With the Planning Inspectorate appeal now resolved against Punch Taverns, and with costs denied them, we are obviously delighted but this may not be the end. We would welcome dialogue with Punch to see how things can move forward now to secure The Chelsfield Pub against future plans for demolition.
As usual, we will keep an eye on everything and announce any progress or updates via this site and our social media platforms.
We thank our supporters, councillors, local MP, CAMRA and most importantly our community.
The planning appeal will be considered by the Planning inspectorate; an independent executive agency of the UK Government. We have now received confirmation that the Planning Inspectorate has, appointed a case officer; will use the written representations procedure; and that the official starting date is/was 4th April 2019
Over the past few months you may have heard talk of, or possibly seen on our Facebook page, #SaveTheChelsfield, comment or reference made to something called an “ACV” and wondered what it is; we are frequently asked by patrons what an ACV is and how it would help us. To that end we have outlined below the key details of what they are and how they relate to our situation.
