Appeal Dismissed.

The news we have all been waiting for... The Planning Inspectorate Appeal Decision.

We welcome the Planning Inspectorate decision to decline Punch Partnerships (PML) Ltd's appeal.

We thank our supporters, councillors, local MP, CAMRA and most importantly our community.

We call on Punch to talk to us, your customers and loyal community to find a way forward for the good of all. We welcome any open and transparent dialogue.

The Waiting Game

The Waiting Game

Now after all the hard work by everybody completing their submissions to the Planning Inspectorate we wait for their decision.  The appellant, Punch Taverns, have a couple of weeks until the 23rd of May 2019 to make final comments as does the LPA (Local Planning Authority - in this case the London Borough of Bromley) - then the inspectorate will start working on the outcome of the appeal.

The decision date has not yet been set by the Planning Inspectorate but as soon as we know it we will announce it here and on our social media platforms - this could be in around 26 weeks according to their website!

Fingers are crossed that the appeal is thrown out.

There was a meeting...

Save The Chelsfield held an open forum public meeting at 7pm on 25 April 2019 at The Chelsfield - our community pub; the meeting was hosted by Bryan, supported by the STC committee together with our three local councillors, Angela, Mike, Samaris and Norman from CAMRA.

There were well over one hundred people who attended in person, occupying the function room and the bar areas to capacity; it really was great to see so many of you there in person. For those who could not make it, we live streamed the event on FaceBook, and we know that to date over 1,500 people have watched our live stream; you can watch it below.

We also need everybody to submit their own submissions to the Planning Inspectorate, we urge you to do this please - just because we are doing this does not mean that we do not need you to do this too!

The Planning Appeal process has begun

The Save The Chelsfield Planning Appeal has begun!

As you may recall, at the council meeting of 14th February 2019 the original planning application made by Punch Partnerships (PML) Ltd to demolish our much loved pub was unanimously rejected and the council also agreed to contest the appeal that Punch had already lodged.

The appeal will be considered by the Planning inspectorate; an independent executive agency of the UK Government. We have now received confirmation that the Planning Inspectorate has, appointed a case officer; will use the written representations procedure; and that the official starting date was 4th April 2019.  Read more

At 7.00 pm the Plans Sub-Committee No. 3 will meet

Bromley Council Planning officers have already refused Punch Partnerships (PML) Ltd planning permission to demolish The Chelsfield; Punch have already lodged an appeal with the Planning Inspectorate, an independent government body that deal with planning appeals

Tonight, Plans Sub-Committee No. 3 will ratify the refusal of planning permission proposed by their planning officers and then decide if the council will contest the appeal submitted by Punch Partnerships (PML) Ltd

Apologies for the bad sound quality on the stream but we could get no closer and they were very quiet.

Even we struggled to hear sitting in the chamber.

Well done Bryan Gannon and Cllr. Angela Page for speaking on behalf of Save The Chelsfield

Save The Chelsfield campaign is in the media again

So that will be us then (#SaveTheChelsfield) in the Newsshopper this week 😊 Thank you for your support. A good week for us. We are up for the fight. 👊👊

Punch Partnerships (PML) Ltd lodged an appeal with the Planning Inspectorate.

There was a development on the 28th of January; you may have noticed on the Bromley Planning Portal that the Appeal Status changed to “Appeal Lodged”. On that date WYG Planning, acting as agent for Punch Partnerships (PML) Ltd, lodged an appeal with the Planning Inspectorate; an executive government agency that deals with planning appeals. Details of the appeal submission made by Punch together with 12 revised planning documents can be found on the Bromley Planning Portal.
